INDERA COACH CHIDES TABUAN OVER NO-SHOW

INDERA SC head coach Haji Omar bin Haji Jamil expressed his discontentment by the lack of discipline portrayed by Tabuan Muda after appearing with only eight players during their replayed DST Super League tie at the Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex yesterday. The number of players which the under-23 national team has assembled did not fulfil the requirements of staging a match and was well short of the 25 players including substitutes. The head coach was not satisfied in the spirit of competition even though a walkover will be awarded as a likely outcome. “Even though we are already confirmed as runners-up in the DST Super League, we have two matches to go which was against Tabuan Muda and MS ABDB,” he said. The huge majority of the team’s absence was met with even more amazement since the coaches and admin individuals were mostly present for the DST Super League clash. “Tabuan Muda are formed with players that represent at national l

Picture: BT file Two-time DST Super League champions Indera Sports Club (SC) have been successfully granted a replay against Tabuan Muda (the national Under-23 team). The match last month was called off after 61 minutes when Indera captain Shahrin Hj Momin was sent off for a second yellow card, leaving the team with just eight players. The referee stopped the game and told both teams the match could not continue if one side has only eight players in the team – which is against FIFA’s ‘Laws of the Game 2015/2016’. In the rule book, Law 3 states that “A match is played by two teams, each consisting of not more than eleven players, one of whom is the goalkeeper. A match may not start if either team consists of fewer than seven players.” National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) have confirmed in a press yesterday that the match will now be played tomorrow at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hass

INDERA SC IN POLE POSITION FOR THE SECOND PLACE

INDERA SC are in pole position of securing second place in the DST Super League needing just a point from their remaining two fixtures to fend off interest from nearest rivals Najip I-Team.    Najip will be guaranteed at least a top three finish after receiving news of Wijaya’s defeat to Indera SC. Najip’s hard fought 2-1 victory over Jerudong FC at the Track & Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex kept their slim hopes of second place alive.    After months of tangling in a serious battle with the dethroned winners while MS ABDB were enjoying a phenomenal season, second place could be sewed if Tabuan Muda stumble to further disappointment, Indera’s upcoming opponent.    Nevertheless, Najip I-Team have an opportunity to conjure a 13th victory in 18 games with three points at the expense of Wijaya FC, who themselves are in danger of relinquishing fourth place if Tabuan return to the fore as a force.    Tabuan Muda have not seen action in th

INDERA FIRST SIDE TO REACH DST FA CUP QUARTERS

Indera SC became the first side to seal progress to the quarterfinals of this year’s DST FA Cup after cruising to an emphatic 5-1 victory over Setia Perdana at the Tutong Sports Complex on Tuesday night. The DST Sumbangsih Cup holders are looking to end the season just how they started it by lifting a piece of silverware after seeing their league title convincingly ousted by newly crowned DST Super League champions MS ABDB. After the army personnel pulled a masterclass against promoted side Lun Bawang in the league’s premier division, Indera SC, who are battling to cement second place in the league, also played their part ahead of the titanic league-concluding fixture. The 2014 league champions will play either MS PDB or Hawa FT, a surprise package in the tournament, as reward for the victory. DST Super League side MS PDB will be hoping to avoid a major scalp in what have been a fairy-tale run for the non-league side. Indera fielded a strong selection with the avai

INDERA SET SIGHTS ON SECOND PLACE

INDERA SC can go a step closer towards cementing second place if they secure victory over Wijaya FC in the DST Super League at the Tutong Sports Complex tonight. Three points against Wijaya FC will mean Najip I-Team effectively in need of maximum points in their remaining two games while relying on favours from the former winners’ next opponents. Indera SC were held to a goalless draw the last time these both sides met but a point will allow Najip to go level on points if they beat Jerudong FC on Saturday. However a victory and Indera SC may only need a point to virtually be guaranteed of second spot with third-placed Najip holding an inferior goal difference if a scenario emerge that come at the end of the season where both are locked with the same points. Indera, who could gain breathing space with victory, can go five points clear of Najip with two games remaining and a commanding goal difference could be key in the battle for second spot. INDERA SC BENAM SETIA PERDANA, MARA SUKU AKHIR

CHAMPIONS MS ABDB TOO STRONG FOR INDERA

NEWLY-crowned DST Super League champions MS ABDB provided a warning alert of their level of preparedness ahead of their final league fixture against dethroned Indera SC after notching a comprehensive 4-1 drubbing at the expense of Lun Bawang at the Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex on Sunday. The all-conquering league champions have been the most consistent side in the league and Lun Bawang found it close to impossible to be in the same playing level with them. A brace from Razimie Ramli and goals from Nazirul Hazim Mahadin and Adey Shariduan Johari gave the army personnel another comfortable outing. Zaimi Awat scored a mere consolation for the promoted side in the 68th minute. Meanwhile, Jerudong FC pulled further distance from MS PDB in the league following a 4-1 victory at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. Bazli Said led the scoring with a brace while Hairol Azaman Shah Abdullah and Mardi Mirza Abdullah Bujang were also on target
