QAF FC DRAW 1-1 AGAINST INDERA SC

BY FADHIL YUNUS  QAF FC salvaged a much-needed point in a 1-1 draw against Indera SC in the DST Super League 2014 at the Berakas Sports Complex last night. QAF came into the match without a win in two of their starting games thus far and fell behind in the 28th minute through Md Asri bin Hj Aspar who proved a constant threat all night with his menacing runs and intelligence in positional play. Indera SC, undoubtedly stern opposition for QAF, pressed forward in multiple occasions but the tide changed when the referee brandished Mohd Rakin bin Ramli with a red card for a second bookable offence with half-time fast approaching. The game changer for Indera SC took place when they were leading 1-0 before having Mohd Rakin Ramli sent off in the 42nd after committing a dangerous tackle. Indera SC started the match off strong making a number of significant attacks within the first 10 minutes of the game before QAF FC finally shifted in to the same gear. Mohd Asri Hj Aspar scored the opening goal through superb play by Indera SC in the 28th minute at the Berakas Sports Complex. The passage of play started in their own half at the feet of Sahrin Momin who played a perfectly timed pass to Hamizan Aziz Sulaiman, which was quickly laid off to Muhd Nur Ikwan Othman while they were competing again

OLEH HASRULRAIZAN BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 2 Feb – Jaringan lewat Jerudong FC pada minit ke-91 mencemaskan Indera SC dalam kancah Liga Super DST-NFABD 2014 di Kompleks Sukan Berakas (KSB) malam tadi namun masih belum cukup untuk menghalang juara bertahan itu mengutip tiga mata dengan kemenangan 3-2. Dalam persaingan Liga Super yang terhenti sementara minggu lalu akibat keadaan cuaca dan padang yang tidak mengizinkan itu telah disambung semula malam tadi dengan dua perlawanan, dan perlawanan di Balapan & Padang, Kompleks Sukan Negara Hassanal Bolkiah (KSNHB) merekodkan kemenangan 1-0 Wijaya FC ke atas Majra United. Dengan keputusan dua perlawanan malam tadi berkenaan, Indera SC kini mendahului tipis Liga Super dengan 3 mata, diikuti Wijaya FC di tempat kedua, juga tiga mata, manakala QAF FC dan Jerudong FC di tempat ketiga dan keempat dengan 1 mata.

The titleholders now top the table with three points ahead of Wijaya FC, who defeated Majra United 1-0 at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas. “I am very happy that we got three points in our first game of the tournament,” said Indera coach Hj Omar Hj Mohd Jamil in an interview with The Brunei Times after the match. “It is very important for us to not drop any points early in the season as the other teams have all got stronger and better this year. “Our fitness level is not there yet and we can see in the second half that
