QAF FC salvaged a much-needed point in a 1-1 draw against Indera SC in the DST Super League 2014 at the Berakas Sports Complex last night.
QAF came into the match without a win in two of their starting games thus far and fell behind in the 28th minute through Md Asri bin Hj Aspar who proved a constant threat all night with his menacing runs and intelligence in positional play.
Indera SC, undoubtedly stern opposition for QAF, pressed forward in multiple occasions but the tide changed when the referee brandished Mohd Rakin bin Ramli with a red card for a second bookable offence with half-time fast approaching.
The dismissal lifted the spirits of the crowds. Only a minute later, the field reached fever pitch after Afindi Yati bin Tuah was shown the second red card.
Indera SC had demonstrated a wonderful combination of fluidity and ball control in QAF’s penalty area but was denied by a last-ditch intervention.
Md Asri, unarguably Indera’s best player of the night had a shot fro…

Indera SC started the match off strong making a number of significant attacks within the first 10 minutes of the game before QAF FC finally shifted in to the same gear.
Mohd Asri Hj Aspar scored the opening goal through superb play by Indera SC in the 28th minute at the Berakas Sports Complex.
The passage of play started in their own half at the feet of Sahrin Momin who played a perfectly timed pass to Hamizan Aziz Sulaiman, which was quickly laid off to Muhd Nur Ikwan Othman while they were competing against QAF FC’s last three men in defence.
Ikwan then knocked the ball ahead of the bunch, which Mohd Asri chased down before sliding the ball in to the bottom right corner of the goal.
