INDERA SC PUMMEL NAJIP FOR TWENTY

Image
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (29 Jan 2013) – Basement side Najip FC found themselves being pummelled to a pulp when Indera SC piled 20 goals past them in the latest DST Super League in Brunei. The 20-1 win for Indera was the biggest score line in the newly launched league as Hamizan Aziz Sulaiman and Azwan Ali Rahman scored eight and seven respectively. Md Nur Ikwan Othman gave Indera SC the best of start with the first goal of the game just 45 seconds in where after taking a 2-0 lead through Mohd Aqmal Hakeem Abd Hamid just after seven minutes, there was no looking back for the title contender. “We lost the last game (to Majra United FC) with the absence of two key players. We needed to win against Najip and to score more goals,” said Indera SC head coach Ishak Kabon. “We needed this for a confidence booster ahead of our remaining matches. I’m happy with the way things turn out for us.”

NAJIP FC STRUGGLING IN LEAGUE

I haven't been following or catching any of the DST Super League but I do keep track of the scores whenever I read the papers or updates from my inbox from Hj Mohd Taha (thank you for the update, sir). The result that caught my eyes was the thrashing of Najip FC by league leaders Indera SC 20-1 last night at Berakas Sports Complex. I thought I should blog about this because for one reason - is Najip FC not showing their best in every match? They have recorded an appalling record in terms of goal conceded - 49 goals in just 6 games in the DST Super LEague competition. For your info, Najip FC team was established in 2009 and they had to go through a qualifying match group in order to qualify for the DST Super League tournament and they did in style (5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss). No disrespect to the qualifying in Group A of the DST National League but perhaps the quality of the teams in that group might be a misrepresentation of the standard of DST Super League. Najip FC had a

The match between Najip FC and Indera SC last night.  – PHOTO: KHAIRIL HASSAN by JAKE TEN INDERA SC fans were treated to quite the spectacle last night as they watched their team net a jaw-dropping 20 times against Najip FC to go top of the league. The cricket score 20-1 win was the league’s highest scoring game this season, and questions will continue to be asked as to how Najip FC made it into Brunei’s elite football league. Coming off the back of a 7-1 thrashing in the last game week, the league’s whipping boys lasted just 45 seconds before conceding, with Muhd Nur Ikwan bin Othman claiming first blood. Hakeem Abdul Hamid found the back of the net six minutes later, before Hamizan Aziz Sulaiman and Mohd Azwan Ali Rahman both bagged a brace each to put Indera SC 6-0 up with only 20 minutes played. From there on, it was a straight forward shoot-out between Hamizan and Mohd Azwan, with Mohd Afi Aminuddin converting a 38th minute penalty,

A win for Jerudong, on the other hand, will mean that they will be the ones leading the way making the tie all the more interesting. The surprise package of the season, LLRC who led the standings the first two weeks were given a reality check after Indera easily brushed them aside to announce their title bid, thanks in part to a hat-trick from national player Azwan Ali Rahman in the 5-1 win. INDERA FC TOP TABLE

BY JAKE TEN  INDERA SC leapfrogged MS ABDB and LLRC FT in the DST Super League standings to top the table after a Mohammad Azwan Abd Rahman-inspired 5-1 win over the latter at the Berakas Track and Field Complex last night. Talismanic midfielder Mohammad Azwan Abd Rahman  struck with just under a minute played, but LLRC FT’s Md Amirul Jafrey evened things up in the 15th minute. The dynamic Azwan found the back of the net once more eight minutes later, and completed his hat-trick a minute before half-time to give Indera SC a comfortable two-goal cushion. There was little more for LLRC FT to offer, and things only got worse for the side which had sat top of the league going into last night’s encounter. Hamizan Aziz bin Sulaiman added a fourth for Indera SC in the 47th minute, and Muhd Nur Ikwan bin Othamn provided the icing on the cake with his 84th minute effort. The result saw LLRC FT drop two spots, falling behind MS ABDB on goal difference, with the two sides
