OLEH HASRULRAIZAN BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 14 Sept – Indera SC menjulang kejuaraan Liga Super DST-NFABD 2014 apabila piala diserahkan kepada mereka semalam, selepas berjaya mempertahankan gelaran musim lalu untuk dua kejuaraan Liga Super berturut-turut. Namun kejuaraannya malam tadi dicacatkan dengan kekalahan pertama kempen cemerlangnya musim ini, oleh musuh ketat MS ABDB 1-2 bagi membolehkan MS ABDB menamatkan kempennya dengan 37 mata, enam mata di belakang Indera SC. Pada perlawanan di Stadium Negara Hassanal Bolkiah itu, MS ABDB mendahului 1-0 hasil jaringan Suhaimi bin Haji Md Yussof pada minit ke-20, sebelum digandakan seminit selepas rehat oleh Md Baharin bin Hamidon. Gol tunggal Indera SC pula dihasilkan oleh Reduan bin Haji Petara pada minit ke-50. Indera SC had wrapped up the title in emphatic fashion after dismantling QAF FC in the recent title-clinching game. Indera SC head coach Hj Omar Hj Jamil acknowledged the defeat as a valuable lesson. “Hopefully, we can start the 2015 season better than how we fared tonight,” Hj Omar said. Throughout the match, the team struggled to maintain their unbeaten record, with coach admitting they had immensely missed the services of captain Sahrin bin Momin. The two-time champions lost 2-1 to Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) in the final day of the tournament, leaving their coach Hj Omar Hj Jamil with mixed emotions. “I am very happy that we won the title again this year and I am very proud of the players. We have created history tonight by winning the tournament two years in a row,” said Hj Jamil in an interview with The Brunei Times . “But we lost tonight and we failed to maintain our unbeaten record in the league. We were very close to achieving that. This is a lesson for the players to not be complacent in the future,” he said. The champions were on tune basically from the get-go and did not waste any time to come ahead with three minutes of the clock barely lapsed through the country’s bright prospect – Mohd Asri bin Hj Aspar. INDERA SC are looking to complete their DST Super League campaign with an unbeaten record. They already wrapped up the title for the second straight year after a 7-1 demolition of QAF FC last night at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
