INDERA DOWN LUN BAWANG 2-1

Image
DST Super League defending champions Indera Sports Club edged past Lun Bawang 2-1 in a very close match at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex last night. The victory means Indera are now just five points behind league leaders Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) who have 33 points. Indera's coach Hj Omar Hj Jamil said that the victory was a very important one for the team following their shocking 2-0 defeat in the first round of the tournament last month. “It is a very important win for us… It was not an easy game but I am glad that we did not repeat the same result of the first round,” said Hj Omar in an interview with The Brunei Times after the match. “Lun Bawang have improved so much this year and they got a lot of good young players in the team, so they will only going to get better. “They played with five midfielders tonight so it was a bit difficult for us to match their strength in the midfield.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 8 Sept – Indera SC merampas kembali kedudukan kedua Liga Super DST 2015 selepas melakukan apa yang lazim dilakukannya musim lalu bagi merangkul kejuaraan dua tahun berturut-turut iaitu menjaringkan banyak gol pada separuh masa kedua selepas ketinggalan pada separuh masa pertama. INDERA SC FACING GOALKEEPER CRISIS

The goalkeeper can very well determine the success or failure of a team. That rings true for two-time DST Super League defending champions Indera SC as they are having trouble in between the sticks. Indera haven’t been in their best form and succumbed to back-to-back defeats for the first time in three seasons after losing to the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) and Lun Bawang to end the first round. Md Fakhrul Zulhazmi Yussof, who earned a cap with the national side in a friendly against Singapore in June, and second choice custodian Ak Omar Nur Aqamaddin are out indefinitely. The former - who was between the sticks when Brunei won the Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy in 2012 - missed his fourth game in a row due to personal reasons while Ak Omar is out due to an injury after the game against Lun Bawang last Sunday. Indera have had to scramble and find a replacement and did so with 20-year-old Candra Budianto. He made his debut against newly promoted

INDERA SC FIVE POINTS ADRIFT OF LEAGUE LEADER MS ABDB

INDERA SC reinvigorated their hopes of retaining the DST Super League title after emerging 4-3 winners in a seven-goal thriller at the Berakas Sports Complex on Monday night. The defending champions, hoping to avoid a third consecutive loss, were in danger of falling further ground to the league leaders after trailing 3-1 in one stage of the game. However, two goals for key player Hamizan Aziz Sulaiman in the 70th and 78th minute drew Indera level before Muhd Nur Ikwan Othman smashed home the winner in the 81st minute. Awangku Mohd Abdul Halim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan and Muhammad Hafiy bin Danan gave the promoted side a dream start against the titleholders but the deficit was trimmed following Mohd Asri bin Haji Aspar’s successful penalty conversion in the 45th minute. Mohd Amirul bin Muhd Rasyid’s goal after the hour mark had threatened another upset from a side competing in the DST Premier League in the preceding season. Indera now reduce MS ABDB’s lead at the t

BT/Ridhwan Kamarulzaman   Two-Time DST Super League defending champions Indera Sports Club (SC) snapped a two-game losing streak after coming back from two goals down to beat IKLS FC to move up to second last night. Coming off loses to league leaders Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) and Lun Bawang at the end of the first round, Indera needed a win against the newly promoted IKLS in their first game of the second round to cut into MS ABDB’s eight-point lead. Indera had a bad first half and trailed 2-0 in the 39th minute before a penalty from Muhammad Asri Hj Aspar set the half-time score at the Berakas Sports Complex at 2-1. IKLS made it 3-1 in the 64th minute before a brace from Indera’s Hamizan Aziz Sulaiman and a 81st minute goal from Muhd Nur Ikwan Othman sealed an improbable win. “We were lucky

LUN BAWANG UPSET CHAMPIONS INDERA SC

Lun Bawang produced the shock of the season thus far after securing a morale-enhancing 2-0 victory over DST Super League holders Indera SC at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium on Sunday. The multi-title winning squad were expected to close the gap on current league leaders MS ABDB to only two points but now after a gruelling 90 minutes they found themselves a further five points adrift on an equal footing. The second defeat in a span of nine days could spell further bad news if MS ABDB can extend their lead to eight points if they win at fourth-placed Wijaya FC. Zaimi Awat netted via a penalty in the 35th minute for the promoted club while Petrus Jumat sealed the win seven minutes from time. It was only the Temburong-based club second win of the season which put them within a point of MS PDB, who currently occupy eighth place in the 10-member league. The affair marked the end of the first round in the DST Super League and the teams will resume their fixtures in
