Indera Sports Council (SC) fell short in their DST FA Cup campaign after losing 2-3 to the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) in the final at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium on Saturday night.
Indera head coach Hj Omar Hj Jamil felt that his team did the best but luck was not on their side.

“Losing the match against MS ABDB in the final was devastating, but MS ABDB were the better team here,” said Hj Omar in an interview with The Brunei Times yesterday.

“We were trailing by three goals. When we pulled two back in the second half, our hopes were lifted, but we didn’t have enough time to cause an upset,” Hj Omar lamented. The match was interrupted in the fifth minute due to heavy rain before resuming 35 minutes later.

“The waterlogged pitch didn’t help at all, but we can’t use that as an excuse. It disrupted our momentum of course, but MS ABDB had it tough as well,” said Hj Omar. “We couldn’t do much but pushed hard for the last goal and hoped it would’…

INDERA MS ABDB FACE OFF

Two-time DST Super League champions Indera Sports Council (SC) fell short of defending their title against rivals Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB), but they just might make up for it in tonight’s DST FA Cup final.

Indera head coach Hj Omar Hj Jamil feels that the match is the biggest highlight of the season for his team but remains wary of MS ABDB’s strong form.

Indera went through to the final after beating IKLS FC 4-1 at the Tutong Sports Complex on Tuesday while MS ABDB secured their place after beating Tabuan Muda (national Under-23 football team) 2-1 on Wednesday.

“This final is ‘the match’. We have one last shot of winning a trophy this season and we cannot lose our focus against MS ABDB,” said Hj Omar in an interview with The Brunei Times on Thursday.

“Not to sound over-confident, but I think it is time for MS ABDB to hand over the torch to us… Just how we did for them in the league.

“MS ABDB are a very fine team and they truly deserve the league this…

The attacking prowess of the dethroned league champions became apparent as key man Hamizan Aziz Sulaiman turned the heat with a pair of strikes to settle the contest before Nur Ikhwan completed IKLS misery in additional time.

Indera will face either Tabuan Muda or two-time defending champions MS ABDB in the final.

The Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) concluded their DST Super League campaign with a 2-2 draw against two-time champions Indera Sports Council (SC) in their season-ending match at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas last night.

The first half saw both MS ABDB and Indera struggling to find their momentum. A flurry of fouls and clumsy challenges from top two teams suggested a rusty start, however, in the 26th minute MS ABDB’s Pvt Azizi Ali Rahman broke the deadlock after scoring from a cross from a corner.

The goal saw a more confident side of the army men, but Indera refused to falter and remained vigilant against the team who performed well throughout the season. Indera denied the army men and the score remained 1-0 towards the end of the first half.

The second half saw a more determined MS ABDB side when Pvt Razimie Ramli took the opportunity to score in the 46th minute but the linesman ruled the goal as offside.

Indera pushed to score and a…
