IT was the story of the
season for the two contrasting teams for completely various reasons but the
main significant detail is Indera SC confirming their league title that they
never looked like relinquishing at any juncture of the DST Super League 2014
season.
Not with a performance
marvelled in awe against a wasteful QAF FC team or the countless of attacks
that they demonstrated to perfection en-route to the title that always going to
be theirs for the taking. For QAF it is back to the drawing board and they will
probably be relieved that their season has ended.
Indera SC are crowned
champions of the DST Super League once again with two games to spare in the
season after mauling QAF FC 7-1 last night.
With a team not in shortage
of excellent players including the likes of Brunei Darussalam’s HBT star Muhd
Nur Ikwan Othman, Hamizan Aziz bin Sulaiman stole the spotlight with a hat-
trick.
His finish for the
third goal was not bad too, turning and twisting past a defender before
comfortably sliding home an angled finish past the QAF FC’s keeper.
Muhd Nur Ikwan, Abd
Khair bin Hj Basri, Mohd Khayrun bin Salleh and Reduan bin Hj Petara each made
it to the score-sheet.
Muhd Nur Ikwan and Md
Zulkhairy combined well and as the latter got the necessary flick and keeping
the goalkeeper on his toes, a QAF FC defender was quick to recover from
questionable defending.
Nur Ikwan sent a cross
to the box and QAF FC’s goalkeeper Junaidi managed to keep out Md Zulkhairy
with an unorthodox save.
It might not matter
then as the referee failed to spot an apparent touch by the goalkeeper outside
his boundaries.
Hamizan Aziz was pinned
down to the ground giving the referee no choice but to award a yellow card as
Junaidi dived smartly to catch captain Sahrin’s set-piece attempt.
When called into a
decision, the referee did not shy away from his pockets and handing out a
caution to Reduan bin Hj Petara.
Md Khairul Anwar curled
a fine effort but did not quite find the top corner as Junaidi raised his arms
to collect the ball.
Nur Ikwan should have
scored or tested the keeper when put through Reduan while on the other end QAF
failed to make most of their opportunity count.
Mardi’s delicate ball
into the far post enabled a team- mate to get a good connection but Mohd Fakrul
Zulhamzi got a vital touch before rattling the crossbar and back to play.
Md Khairul Anwar’s set-
piece which hit the crossbar was the closest opportunity before Hamizan
completed his hat- trick.
QAF FC hit wide after
quelling threat for a possible counter and never looked to extend their goal
tally since Hardi Bujang’s goal in the 15th minute.
