INDERA SC EDGE JERUDONG FC 3-2

Bandar Seri Begawan - The race for the DST Super League title continued to heat up after Indera SC edged Jerudong FC 3-2 at the Berakas Track and Field Complex last night.

Indera SC opened the scoring when the league's top scorer, Md Azwan Ali Rahman, delivered an exquisite cross-field pass for Abdul Mu'iz bin Sisa, who controlled the ball expertly before applying an emphatic finish in the 11th minute.

Sahrin bin Momin's free-kick from just outside the box made it 2-0 nine minutes later, but a superb header off the back of a corner from Md Enddy Zulyady bin Awg Sapar showed Jerudong FC were alive and kicking just two minutes later.

Mohammad Khayrun bin Salleh restored Indera SC's two-goal cushion on the hour mark, although Muhd Abu Bakar bin Mahari did pull one back for Jerudong FC in the 39th minute to force a nervy ending to the match.

Indera SC held on for the win and went to the top of the table with 10 points after Four games, meaning MS ABDB now trail by a single point, although they do boast a 100% start to the season and still have one game in hand.

MD AQMAL SEES INDERA SC HOME

by YEE CHUN LEONG INDERA SC notched up their second straight win with a 1-0 victory over MS PDB (Royal Brunei Police Force's Sports Council) in Group C of the DST-National Football League 2011/2012 yesterday at the Balapan Track and Field in Berakas. It was an equally matched first half with neither team being able to control the midfield. Indera did break the deadlock before halftime with Md Aqmal Hakeem Abd Hamid scoring the only goal of the match in the 42nd minute. He received a good through ball to get behind two defenders and placed his shot past the outstretched arm of MS PDB goalkeeper Md Khairol Amin Hj Zainuddin. MS PDB had the upperhand in the aerial battle and enjoyed ball possession early on in the second half. Md Syarafuddin Hamdi Hj Talip had a good chance to equalise in the 55th minute after towering over the Indera defenders but his header was off target. A dominating performance from Indera SC lacked a cutting edge, with the inaugural DST Super League winners forced to recover from Mohd Helmie Noorazmi’s first half header through Reduan bin Hj Petara’s 65th minute strike. Their lack of conviction proved fatal in the ensuing penalty shoot-out as they missed two penalties as LLRC FT celebrated a hard-fought victory.
