QAF FC DRAW 1-1 AGAINST INDERA SC

QAF FC salvaged a much-needed point in a 1-1 draw against Indera SC in the DST Super League 2014 at the Berakas Sports Complex last night.

QAF came into the match without a win in two of their starting games thus far and fell behind in the 28th minute through Md Asri bin Hj Aspar who proved a constant threat all night with his menacing runs and intelligence in positional play.

Indera SC, undoubtedly stern opposition for QAF, pressed forward in multiple occasions but the tide changed when the referee brandished Mohd Rakin bin Ramli with a red card for a second bookable offence with half-time fast approaching.

The dismissal lifted the spirits of the crowds. Only a minute later, the field reached fever pitch after Afindi Yati bin Tuah was shown the second red card.

Indera SC had demonstrated a wonderful combination of fluidity and ball control in QAF’s penalty area but was denied by a last-ditch intervention.

Md Asri, unarguably Indera’s best player of the night had a shot from far out that sailed harmlessly wide.

QAF showed glimpses of attack earlier on in the second half and was rewarded after Sam Frank drew his side level for his third goal in as many matches.

Indera began their brand of free flowing ball from the back with confident passing and nearly found a member of their impressive attacking unit having the weighed pass within touching distance.

Indera nearly scored in two occasions through a set-piece and a wild cross which travelled past QAF shot-stopper Junaidi bin Akim before it bounced off the post.

Indera appeared to beat the offside trap as the ever-present Md Asri roamed forward before delivering a cross to Hamizan Aziz bin Sulaiman who rushed his shot under immense pressure by the QAF defence.

QAF defended bravely and Md Asri nearly found a solution to beat them after latching his shot just wide having shown fine control of the ball.

Indera FC had a header sailed wide from a corner. QAF too had their chances of their own but an unmarked Sam Frank was unable to trouble the keeper in the final third.

In another match, MS ABDB won 4-1 against Kilanas FC.
