INDERA SC CONTINUE TITLE DEFENCE IN FA CUP WITH ASRI WINNER

Mohammad Asri bin Haji Aspar became a hero for Indera SC after his match-winning goal in extra time helped his team to a 1-0 victory over MS ABDB in the quarter-finals of the DST FA Cup at the Berakas Sports Complex last night.

The defending champions progressed to the last four of the competition and dashed hopes of a league and cup double for MS ABDB.

The army personnel finally made their move in the Indera’s final third after more than a quarter of the game elapsed when Muhammad Hariz Danial bin Haji Khallidden skipped past his marker and tried to pick out a teammate.

However, Indera goalkeeper Mohammad Ahsanuddin bin Haji Mohd Dani saw the danger and dived in to make a save.

Shortly after, a MS ABDB player also had a chance but his shot lacked power and conviction to trouble Mohammad Ahsanuddin.

MS ABDB attacker Adey Shariduan bin Haji Johari’s free-kick took a deflection off an Indera player for a corner which subsequently ended wide.

Tempers frayed following a heated incident at the end of the first half involving Indera and MS ABDB players when a ball was headed into the net despite Ahsanuddin already making a save.
