INDERA CLOSE GAP FOR 2ND PLACE

Indera SC closed the gap for second place in the DST Super League to six points with a game in hand after defeating MS PDB 2-0 at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex on Friday night.

Indera, two-time league winners, have never slipped outside the top two since the inception of the DST Super League five years ago but their position came under serious threat following Kota Ranger’s emergence.

The win took them on 36 points though Kota Ranger, who have a mathematical possibility of winning the title, are in well positioned to finish at a minimum in second place.

Indera’s 11th victory of the season also ended MS PDB’s slim hopes of finishing in the top five with a win required for the latter to stay in contention with their rivals.

Md Shafie bin Haji Mohd Effendy struck for Indera in the 25th minute before Md Asri bin Haji Aspar completed the scoring in the 73rd minute.
