INDERA SC UP TO THIRD IN DST SUPER LEAGUE

Two-time DST Super League champions Indera Sports Club (SC) climbed up to third in the table after edging Wijaya FC 2-1 last night.
 
Mohammad Aimmil Rahman Ramlee scored in both halves to help Indera to their fourth victory and to get within eight points of leaders Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) and second-placed Kota Rangers.
 
Over at the Batu Apoi Sports Complex in Temburong, Lun Bawang destroyed Menglait FC 9-2 to continue their good run of form in the league.
 
Yunus Lupat and Petrus Jumat starred in the victory with a hat-trick each to help the Temburong-based side move up to fifth place in the league with 10 points.
 
The other match last night saw Najip I -Team held to a 3-3 draw against Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council (MS PDB) at the Tutong Sports Complex.

MD AQMAL SEES INDERA SC HOME

by YEE CHUN LEONG INDERA SC notched up their second straight win with a 1-0 victory over MS PDB (Royal Brunei Police Force's Sports Council) in Group C of the DST-National Football League 2011/2012 yesterday at the Balapan Track and Field in Berakas. It was an equally matched first half with neither team being able to control the midfield. Indera did break the deadlock before halftime with Md Aqmal Hakeem Abd Hamid scoring the only goal of the match in the 42nd minute. He received a good through ball to get behind two defenders and placed his shot past the outstretched arm of MS PDB goalkeeper Md Khairol Amin Hj Zainuddin. MS PDB had the upperhand in the aerial battle and enjoyed ball possession early on in the second half. Md Syarafuddin Hamdi Hj Talip had a good chance to equalise in the 55th minute after towering over the Indera defenders but his header was off target. A dominating performance from Indera SC lacked a cutting edge, with the inaugural DST Super League winners forced to recover from Mohd Helmie Noorazmi’s first half header through Reduan bin Hj Petara’s 65th minute strike. Their lack of conviction proved fatal in the ensuing penalty shoot-out as they missed two penalties as LLRC FT celebrated a hard-fought victory.
