NBT FC BEAT INDERA FC 4-3

Zul Hilmi Rosli BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN Wednesday, June 11, 2008 NBT FC was victorious in their match against Indera FC 4-3 in the Brunei Premier League 1 at the JBS Stadium last night. Indera started off their campaign with a 2-1 lead in the first half. The first two goals were slip ups by NBT's defenders as the first goal was an own goal in the 18th minute and the second was a horrendous mistake as a defender's pass was too weak to reach the goalkeeper and was intercepted in the 27th minute. Both goals were claimed by Indera's Jasli Masri. Afindiyati Hj Tuah managed to squeeze in a goal for NBT just before half time in the 40th minute. As the second half started NBT showed no mercy improving both on their teamwork and accurate passing. Their efforts paid off as a through ball to Afindiyati and his well timed run let him chip the ball pass the goalkeeper in the 52nd minute. DPMM FC reported on their website on Sunday that they have acquired the services of the midfielder, who led the DST Super League in scoring last season, from the newly-crowned champions. However, Indera's president yesterday took the step of responding directly to the claim by branding the report as false.
