VIBAN FRANCIS BAYONG broke Jerudong FC's hearts last night with a goal in injury-time to send QAF FC back to the top of the DSTGroup Brunei Premier League I (BPL I) with a 2-1 win.
Though he netted both of the defending champions' goals at the Balapan Track & Field, Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas, the Cameroonian midfielder was quick to deflect any individual praise.
A free-kick from Ak Md Kamarul Ariffin Pg Ramlee in the 92nd minute was met by Bayong, who also opened the scoring for QAF FC in the 27th minute when he tapped in a header from Md Aqmal Hakeem Abd Hamid.
"I thank the team for playing well ... All the guys did a great job today (Monday)," said Bayong.
"It is not only about Viban, we won because the team played well. Did you see that cross? If it wasn't for him (Ak Md Kamarul Ariffin) we would not have won," he added.

Bandar Seri Begawan - With a strong mentality after winning the recent thrilling encounter against AM Gunners FC, Indera SC are now holding on to their momentum to face KSJ Penjara in the DST Group Blunei Premier League I match at the Berakas Sports Complex today. Indera SC currently are fifth in the league after five matches and setting their sight to collect another three points to dethrone fourth placed Majra FC who will not play until next week against giant, QAF FC.
Both Indera SC and Majra FC are level on seven points with goal difference. In an interview with the Borneo Bulletin yesterday, Indera SC coach Moksen Mohammad said his team will welcome back two players after missing from the recent match.
"The two players will be back straight to the starting tomorrow after going through suspension due to red card offence. I hope with this `injection' our team will find our rhythm back," said Moksen whose team were defeated twice thus far in the league this season.
INDERA SC notched up their second straight win with a 1-0 victory over MS PDB (Royal Brunei Police Force's Sports Council) in Group C of the DST-National Football League 2011/2012 yesterday at the Balapan Track and Field in Berakas. It was an equally matched first half with neither team being able to control the midfield. Indera did break the deadlock before halftime with Md Aqmal Hakeem Abd Hamid scoring the only goal of the match in the 42nd minute. He received a good through ball to get behind two defenders and placed his shot past the outstretched arm of MS PDB goalkeeper Md Khairol Amin Hj Zainuddin. MS PDB had the upperhand in the aerial battle and enjoyed ball possession early on in the second half. Md Syarafuddin Hamdi Hj Talip had a good chance to equalise in the 55th minute after towering over the Indera defenders but his header was off target.
