SUBSTITUTE goalkeeper Abdul Rahman became the unsuspecting hero for Indera SC last night after he saved a penalty that sent his team through to the semi-finals of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Redbull Futsal Championship 2012.

Indera SC defeated Pega Star Team 7-6 in the quarter-finals played at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

Both team were equally matched at defence and offence. The first half though saw the Pega Star Team in control with quick tricks and low passes, while Indera SC relied on long passes and low shots for goal.

At the fifth minute, a high throw from Pega Star's keeper saw the ball landed to his teammate's feet which saw the player quickly feed the ball into Indera SC's box which left Indera's keeper with no chance as a Pega Star player shot wildly into the net, opening the score at 1-0.

After scoring, Pega Star's offence got confident and decided to keep taking chances for goal leaving Indera only to hold on to their defence trying their best to take back in controlling the game.

The second half saw a different Indera SC as they change their momentum to playing with shorter passes which proved to be useful as a quick left cross had Mohd Junaidi tap the ball into the net in the 28th minute, making it 1-1.

The game was decided on penalty shootouts to which Indera SC came out as the better team.
Last night's also saw another quarter-final game in which Arbisham beat Shah United with a score of 3-0. Arbisham will meet Indera SC on September 24 at the Multipurpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

MS ABDB will face FC Phosphor and PHJ F will go against Kota Junior for the quarter-final matches tomorrow night at the Indoor Stadium.
