Ten-man Indera SC remained unbeaten in the DST Super League following a relatively comfortable 2-0 victory over Najip FC at the Balapan Track and Field last night.

Their league guide does not lie and never seemed to be relinquishing their unbeaten status after an assured performance worthy of their title credentials against a side that was once early forerunners in the championship race. The first chance fell to the hosts with Mohd Rakin bin Ramli striking wide perhaps fazed by the chaotic nature of the penalty box. Mohd Azri bin Zahari created all sorts of havoc from a set- piece floated long and ended up needing treatment due to a minor collision with the goalkeeper.

Following lapse of concentration at the back from the league leaders, Ampuan Mohd Endy Azri bin Ampuan Hj Idris capitalised on the uncharacteristic error and fortuitously finding Abang Nor Sillmy bin Abang Hj Taha.

Mohd Zulkhairy bin Razali won the battle against his marker but saw his attempt rolled out wide despite succeeding in beating the keeper.

The turning point of the game came during the sending off of Indera’s goalkeeper Mohd Fakrul Zulhamzi bin Yussof after chopping down an advancing Najip FC’s player put through on goal.

Only few weeks ago a team handicapped of a starting 11 performed better in the remainder of the match and this time it was the turn of Indera SC’s to be woken up from being a man short in this odd game of football.

After exhibiting nifty footwork and squaring the ball back to the chaotic box, the home side delivered a fatal blow with Mohd Khayrun bin Salleh producing the telling touch for a lead that no-one could have least expected.

As one of the teams previously occupying the top spot, Najip FC reacted with a tactical switch with Ampuan Mohd Endy Azri withdrawn for Hj Khairol Anwar bin Hj Md Yaakub. Indera kept on applying more pressure with Mohd Zulkhairy close to doubling the lead.
