INDERA FC NFABD FUTSAL CHAMPIONS

Bandar Seri Begawan - In an enthralling conclusion to this year's Red Bull NFABD Futsal Champions League 2012, Indera SC were crowned champions after one-upping MS ABDB in the final with a 4-2 victory at the Indoor Stadium, Berakas yesterday.

Indera SC, sporting their home colours of yellow and blue, took the load through Ak Md Naqib as early as the third minute.

It was 2-0 shortly after with Md Amirulizam joining Naqib on the score sheet and it appeared as if the game was going to snowball into a huge victory for Indera SC.

However, MS ABDB substitute Md Zairul Hazmin had other ideas on his mind, and he pulled one back in the 1011 minute with a well-taken finish.

Seven minutes later, he had doubled his tally and drawn his side level after the Indera SC defenders once more allowed the MS ABDB striker to control the ball, before turning and picking his spot.

The high intensity and pace of the match was seemingly playing in MS ABDB's favour, but Indera SC always looked a good bet on the counter-attack, and those bets were cashed in, twice, before the final whistle.

Md Amirulizam netted his second of the night in the 32nd minute with a neat-one-two before Md Fah put the result beyond doubt with another fast-flowing counter-attacking move five minutes from time.

Ranozakhwan of MS ABDB did have the chance to pull one back in the 37th minute when his side were awarded a 10-metre penalty after Indera SC had committed six team fouls.

However, substitute Goalkeeper, Hj Md Yunus, stood his ground, and Ranozakhwan's powerfully accurate effort was kept out by the keeper's chest.

That was their last bite of the cherry, making for a slightly more comfortable final score than Indera SC could have expected.

Despite shipping four goals, MS ABDB Goalkeeper, Abu Yazid, received the Man of the Match award for his impressive performance.

The winners and runners-up of yesterday's final, Indera SC and MS ABDB, will be travelling to Malaysia next year to compete in the Red Bull Tr-Nations Cup.

Elsewhere, in the third and fourth place playoff match, Arbisham ousted Kota Junior with the same guest of honour, Dato Paduka Haji Abd Rahman bin Haji Mohidin, the President of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD), presented the winners with their prizes.
