NINE-MAN QAF FC BEAT INDERA 3-1

Bandar Seri Begawan - Nine-men QAF FC cruised to a 3-1 victory against Indera SC in what was seen as a controversial match at the Berakas Sports Complex last night.

The defending DST Group Brunei Premier League I champion QAF FC's defender Ratano Tuah was given the marching order after receiving a second yellow card for tackling Indera SC's Md Helmi Zambin and QAF FC's Md Shah Azhar Abdullah was punished with a straight red card for a harsh tackle in the second half..

QAF FC who played without any import players proved they are still capable to challenge for the title this season, as they do not wait for long to penetrate the goal against Indera SC.

HardymanAbd Lamit put QAF FC ahead after he coolly headed the ball in resulting from a clearance error made by an Indera SC's defender Abdurahman Assawadiq Ab' Rahim in the 5th minute.

Seven minutes later, Adie Arsham Mohd Salleh, once a strike partner for QAF FC's Cameroonian import Viban Francis Bayong, slotted the second goal for QAF FC after receiving a fine cross from winger Md Aqmal Hakeem Abdul Hamid from the right flank.

The celebration for QAF FC's players and supporters ,did not end there as midfield maestro Md Mardi Mirza Bujang Abdullah also put his name on the score sheet in the 16th minute. A corner kick from QAF FC's Ak Md Kamarul Ariffin Pg Ramlee led to Md Mardi Mirza's goal who was unmarked by the Indera SC's defenders to net in the third goal for QAF FC.

The red card drama began 10 minutes into half time when QAF FC's defender Ratano Tuah brought down Md Helmi Zambin in the penalty box resulting to no hesitation by the match referee to award Indera SC's a penalty kick.

Ratano who already received a first yellow in the earlier minutes was shown his second to be dismissed from the remaining of the game. The QAF FC defender's action refusal to leave the pitch led to a chaotic atmosphere who could be facing a disciplinary action from the Football Federation of Brunei Darussalam (FFBD).

Indera SC's Sahrin Momin converted the penalty kick by sending QAF FC's goalkeeper Md Sahan Mumtazali the wrong way.

Speaking to the Borneo Bulletin, Indera SC coach Moksen Mohammad commented: "All the blame goes to my players for giving three easy goals in a space oftwelve minutes. This is unbelievable."

When asked on the second red card shown to QAF FC's player Md Shah Azhar, he said: "From my view, it should be a yellow. Well, it is the referee's decision in the end."
