MISFIRING MAJRA AND INDERA SHARE THE SPOILS

MAJRA FC and Indera FC were left ruing the missed chances at the Belapan Track and Feild yesterday, playing to a 1-1 draw in the second day of Hyundai Cup action in a game marked with an abundance of scoring opportunities at both ends.
Majra took the lead in the 36th minute when Muhammad Jukren Kalong found the back of the net with back to goal, turned around and fired a shot past a surprised Muhd Ali Anapiyah Md Noor.
Although Muhd Ali couldn't be blamed for the goal which saw Majra 1-0 up going into half time, his counterpart Mohammad Faisal Hashim was responsible for letting in the equaliser in the 73rd minute.
Noor Raimi Karim's free kick was just too hot to handle for Mohammad Faisal in the Majra goal letting the ball slip through his grasp.
"It was a balanced game in all aspects and I think both teams will be dissappointed with their finishing," said Suhaimi Majid, Majra's manager.
"We are now tied with Indera on points, and QAF FC's win over AM Gunners FC on Sunday doesn't put us in a comfortable position," he added.
Indera's manager, Zulkifli Momin, was pleased with his players' performance, but admitted he did feel a bit let down because he felt his team could have come away with a win.
Indera's goal seemed to give them a burst of life, and coming forward with waves of attack, they came close to grabbing the winner on numerous occassions.
"I'm impressed with the way some of our players performed, but I feel we could have won if not for our strikers' lack of finishing," stated Zulkifli.
"We had many chances to wrap the game up."
