An eight-goal blitz by Mohammad Azwann Ismail saw
M.A.C. scored 21 goals past Singapore’s Mountbatten FC ‘B’. The other scorers
were Zulkhairi Ahmad (3), Shukri Mat Pilus (3), and Nurnaim Abu Nangin (2),
while Ahmad Faizal, Mohd Azrisham Mat Soom, Muhammad Fitri Yatim and Akmal
Yazadh Amri grabbed one a piece.
Gelombang FC brushed off Mountbatten FC ‘A’ 19-1 in
a late night match.
The fate of both Malaysian clubs will be known tomorrow.
M.A.C. will take on Brunei’s Indera SC Futsal while Gelombang goes into
showdown with Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council.
Brunei champions Indera SC Futsal, and Royal Brunei
Armed Forces Sports Council, had earlier in the day made mincemeats of their
Singaporean opponents.
Indera SC, backed by several players who were
called up for national centralised training last month, sent Mountbatten FC ‘B’
reeling to a 15-3 defeat while Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council
followed up with a 14-2 win over Mountbatten FC ‘A’.
Indera manager, Aminuddin Nasuha, said he did not
expect the Singaporeans to give them victory on a silver platter as he had
expected some form of competition.
“It was a good practice match for us though I was
surprised by Mountbatten’s performance.
Nevertheless, my players warmed up to the occasion.
It was a good score in our first match and now we look forward to playing
M.A.C. from Malaysia,” said Aminuddin.
