BY AK FAUZI PG SALLEH INDERA SC are through to the semi-final of the Brunei FA Cup after defeating Liang Lumut Recreation Club (LLRC) FT 5-3 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas last night. They will face the winner between the Royal Brunei Police Forces Sport Council (MS PDB) and Kilanas FC, the two teams doing battle in the last quarter-final tie on Friday. Indera SC opened the scoring early in the game when Hamizan Aziz Sulaiman scored from the near post after he was found unmarked following the corner-kick in the 10th minute. Indera SC's Mohammad Azwan Ali Rahman, who featured in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup qualifier in Myanmar, should have made it 2-0 in the 17th minute when he was set up by Hamizan's cross from the right but sent a glancing header wide. He then latched onto a great pass by Hamizan three minutes later but fired his initial shot at LLRC FT goalkeeper Firman Taufik Nugraha before scooping the rebound ov...

INDERA SPORTS CLUB BREAK FREE FROM PRISONS DEPT

BY WARDI BUNTAR INDERA Sports Club put on a commanding performance to beat Prisons Department 4-1 in the second round of the Brunei FA Cup last night Indera were the dominant team throughout the entire course of the match, putting on a sublime display of passing while controlling the pace of the game at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas. The Prisons Department team, in contrast, were constantly on the back foot, having to defend wave after wave of Indera's relentless attacks. Indera's efforts paid off in the 35th minute when a through ball found striker Muhd Nur Ikwan Othman who calmly fired the ball into the back of the net. The second-half was played out in similar fashion with the four-man defence of Prisons Department desperately trying to smother Indera's attacks. Their efforts would prove to be futile as a cross from the right saw an unmarked Hamizan Aziz Sulaiman double his team's lead at 2-0 in...

Image
Bandar Seri Begawan - In an enthralling conclusion to this year's Red Bull NFABD Futsal Champions League 2012, Indera SC were crowned champions after one-upping MS ABDB in the final with a 4-2 victory at the Indoor Stadium, Berakas yesterday. Indera SC, sporting their home colours of yellow and blue, took the load through Ak Md Naqib as early as the third minute. It was 2-0 shortly after with Md Amirulizam joining Naqib on the score sheet and it appeared as if the game was going to snowball into a huge victory for Indera SC. However, MS ABDB substitute Md Zairul Hazmin had other ideas on his mind, and he pulled one back in the 1011 minute with a well-taken finish. Seven minutes later, he had doubled his tally and drawn his side level after the Indera SC defenders once more allowed the MS ABDB striker to control the ball, before turning and picking his spot. The high intensity and pace of the match was seemingly playing in MS ABDB's favour, but Indera SC...
